Charity prize winners 2013

Well, I’ve picked the prize winners for this season’s charity fundraiser. Here’s the video that shows how it all went down:

If your name was picked, tell me what prize you want. (If your name was picked third, for example, give me your top three choices.) Then email me your address and any other info I need to send it to you.

Thank you all for donating, participating, and watching . . .

  1. Dennis B.

Maybe next year…Best beard look so far Zack! Thanks for all of your work with Pitch in for Baseball!

  2. Big Glove Bob

A complete rig job! I saw sleight of hand, smoke and mirrors, and other sorts of deception from start to end. If anyone wants to know how Z Man rigged this whole deal, just ask the Dinner Portion. I am shocked and appalled!

  3. Zack Hample

    DENNIS B.-
Ha, glad you like the facial hair. It has already changed since the very recent filming of this video.

I just emailed him to let him know that he oughta check out this blog entry.

2014 is right around the corner.

    Actually, *I* want to know.

Sorry, but I couldn’t keep the full beard all winter. It was just too much. Meanwhile, have you actually watched the video? If not, you should.

I can’t say “sorry you didn’t” win because that would be showing favoritism. But hmm . . . maybe the prize you wanted won’t be in high demand, and you can buy it from the winner or arrange a trade?

    Turn that frown upside-down!

  4. Liz Merry

Haha, no I don’t imagine it will be in high demand. How about this — in the interest of privacy for whoever ends up with it, you give them my name and email address and if they want to sell it they can contact me? Would that be OK?

  5. Big Glove Bob

Ok, here is what Zack did. After he decided who he wanted the 12 winners to be, he placed their name slips in his freezer for a whole day. Immediately prior to the drawing, he threw the “cold” slips into the pot and mixed them up. He then commences to root around with his hand until he finds a slip noticeably cooler then the others and then pulls it out and announces the “winner” A rig job from the get go.

  6. Ray Burton

If Liz really wants the Mets credentials (, and they are still available ) , then I choose that prize and wish to give it to her as my gift Merry Xmas.

  7. Liz Merry

Ray!!! That is so sweet! I would gladly accept it and send you a game used Ty Wigginton batting glove and ticket stub from the game as a Christmas gift to you!

  8. Ray Burton

Thank you Liz. That sounds great. Zack has all my details and if he can organise it , I would be most appreciative. I am a Ty Wiggington fan ( plus he used to play for the Rays ! ) , so a piece of Ty memorabilia would be most welcome and have a place of honour on my baseball shrine. Merry Xmas to all in the States and especially those in the Cult of Hample.

  9. Liz Merry

Win, win! He was a Met when I got the glove. It was at Turner Field, the night Jose Reyes became the youngest player to hit a HR from both sides of the plate in one game. I think it was his third game in the majors and he was 19. I’ll email Zack and we’ll make the “gift exchange”. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Xo

  10. Zack Hample

I think the freezer trick only works for actual baseballs. :-)

Your kindness and generosity are astounding. The “Cult of Hample,” huh? Sometimes it feels like that.

Email me your mailing address, and I’ll send you the credential. Lucky you!

No need to apologize. I’ll mail your prize tomorrow from the Argosy Book Store.

  11. Ray Burton

Lol Liz , hands across the ocean. Another triumph for US – Australian co-operation and detente. Very happy to help. Just don’t cross out Zack Hample and write Liz Merry and use it for private media access ( or maybe you could ). Hmmm. It’s an idea. Happy holidays.

  12. Ray Burton

Thanks for the update Liz. Happy to help. Have a great holiday season. I hope Curtis Granderson hits 50 home runs for the Mets in 2014. Use those media credentials wisely.

  13. Liz Merry

I will, Ray. The back of it is blank, so I think with a little doctoring I may be able to sneak into some areas normally not accessible by mere humans. A very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to everyone in the Cult of Hample. How many days until pitchers and catchers???

  14. Liz Merry

Hahaha! I will show them this thread when I am incarcerated at Rikers! All will be absolved from this most heinous crime, except me, of course. I expect to be throwing out the First Pitch or singing the National Anthem sometime, too. As if. Love you guys.
