Vintage Airplane Magazine

I’m sure that the title (and first image) of this blog entry seems totally random, but bear with me for a moment . . .

Do you remember my helicopter stunt from last summer? Well, check out the latest article that mentions it, written for the December 2012 issue of Vintage Airplane. Here’s the cover:

Here’s the first page of the article . . .

. . . and here’s the second (with the part about me):

How cool is that?!

Many thanks to my friend Mike Davison, not just for helping me set up the whole stunt last summer, but for spotting this article and mailing it to me.

Zack , maybe ESPN or MLB would be interested in sending a film crew for your next attempt. Or you could organise it and they could distribute it. At any rate , I predict a big 2013 in the media.

  2. Mike

Glad it got there. I’m believing the story about babe Ruth a little more now. Still don’t know how they did it

  3. Zack Hample

I like how you think. I’m in the process of trying to get some TV stuff going.

What I don’t believe is that the Sprinz ball was traveling 154mph. According to everything I’ve read and heard (and experienced!), the terminal velocity of a baseball is only 95 miles per hour.

  4. Liz Merry

Cooooool! They don’t explain how they came up with 154mph. Did they shoot it straight down out of a cannon? I doubt that number is correct.
