My blog is under construction.

In case you haven’t noticed, some of my old blog entries and photos have gone missing. MLBlogs is in the process of transferring all the content from Six Apart to WordPress, and I’ve been told that they need a little more time to work out the kinks — and that all my old content should reappear soon. Thanks to all of you who’ve emailed me to express your concern. I think it’s gonna be okay, and on a positive note, the new WordPress software does look pretty sweet.

So wait a minute? Now you can post comments without signing up? And why is it that it is just YOUR blog that is screwed up, while my blog, and many of the other blogs I read, seem fine? Unbelievable that this is happening with your blog.

Matt, MLB said they were updating the blogs or whatever and theyre starting with the pro blogs like Zacks.

Zack, Im glad you kept everything backed up. I knew you were a smart guy!

Long time reader, first time commentor. Excellent job on “The Baseball.” I consider myself more of a Sunday afternoon baseball fan, but appreciated how anyone from a novice to a “ballhawk” could learn something new. It was certainly a fresh perspective on America’s pastime.

Hey, you have got your title and picture back, that’s a start! After I saw your blog, I spent a bunch of time backing mine up this weekend. Hopefully they figure this out ASAP so the rest of us don’t have to go through what you’ve had to deal with. I agree, this should have been done in December, not late March…or not done at all.

I’m not sure if people can post anonymous comments. I’m so confused right now. You have no idea. As for your blog, my guess is that it might end up getting screwy too, so be prepared.

Aarrghh!! (That’s all I have to say.)

Thanks so much for leaving a comment and for checking out my book. Glad you enjoyed it. I was hoping that it would appeal to a wide range of fans.

No, I most certainly did not. And you know what’s weird? The ads (I just learned) only appear for people who are not logged in. I’m really frustrated right now. I see that some of my entries from 2007 are starting to appear in the archives, but none of the photos work. Rrrr.

If the blog isn’t fixed by your first game, what are you going to do. Maybe start a temporary blog until this one is fixed?

  8. Zack Hample

I heard from someone earlier today who works for, and he told me that everything should be fixed soon. All my old entries should be recovered, and all the links and photos should be back in working order. So for now, I intend to stay here on MLBlogs and keep this blog going. Fingers crossed.

Sucks! I’m browsing via mobile phone and noticed the mobile blog style looked familiar! WordPress is pretty good, so hopefully the switch will be worth it.

Guess I’ll actually have to post a new entry to my rarely used mlblog to check out the changes!

I am visting Camden Yards this week, and i was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me:
    a. I don’t have season tickets, so I will be in RF at first. Would it be better to play the SRO area or Eutaw bleachers during BP?
    b. Also with the season tix thing, will I be able to go in as a “guest” with a season ticket holder? (like Rangers Ballpark)
    c. At what time (for a 7 PM start) do the Orioles and visitors BP end?

  11. Zack Hample

    Hey, Mike-
    My answers are as follows…
    a) There’s not one way to answer that. It all depends on who’s hitting, where it’s more/less crowded, and your own strengths and weaknesses as a ballhawk. Just go with your gut. If righties are up, don’t waste your time in the SRO section.
    b) No guests at Camden. You’d actually have to HAVE a season ticket to get in early.
    c) It’s hard to say with the Orioles. Their BP times have been all over the place in recent seasons. The visitors will probably finish between 6:15 and 6:25pm.
    Hope that helps.
