Thanksgiving 2008

I’m giving you all an extra day or two to send me your photos. I’ve received 30 so far, and they’ll be in my next entry. In the meantime, here’s how my Thanksgiving went down…

I spent it with my parents and girlfriend (and roughly 20 other people) at the home of David Amram about 40 miles north of New York City. In the following four-part photograph, starting on the top left and going clockwise, you can see a) the initial gathering in the living room, b) the dining room all set to go with bowls of butternut squash soup, c) the heavenly desserts, and d) singing/strumming at the campfire:

Of course this Thanksgiving recap wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t share my traditional dinner plate photo. So here it is. Starting at the top middle of the plate and going clockwise, you’re looking at sweet potato with marshmallow topping, stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey with gravy, ham, mashed potatoes, snow peas with some type of creamy bacon goodness, a corn muffin…and in the very center (to make myself feel all healthy) I had a few roasted brussels sprouts:

Wow. I think I gained about five pounds, which means the day was a success.

In other news (for people who live north of the border), I did a taped radio interview the other day which is supposed to air this Sunday (Nov. 30) in Canada on the “Inside Sports” show on XFM 98.9.

That’s it for now. Get ready to see everyone’s baseballs in my next entry…
